ROLE OVERVIEW

About the role:

CASS MUC delivers multi-utility infrastructure with confidence. From early-stage design through to final connection and network adoption, we provide integrated gas, water, electrical and telecoms infrastructure across the UK, simplifying delivery, reducing risk and keeping projects moving.

We are seeking an Electrical Single Utility or Multi-Utility Estimator to support the delivery of utility infrastructure projects across residential, commercial and industrial developments.

This role will focus on analysing project documentation, engaging with stakeholders, and producing accurate and commercially viable estimates across electrical (LV/HV) and water infrastructure, with the opportunity to support fully integrated multi-utility solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Multi-Utility Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates and supporting coordinated utility designs across multiple disciplines. Your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Analysing drawings, development layouts, specifications and BOQs to prepare accurate cost estimates

  • Undertaking desktop site surveys and liaising with clients to understand utility requirements

  • Liaising with Water Authorities, DNOs and IDNOs to obtain connection offers, approvals and adoption requirements

  • Producing integrated multi-utility estimates aligned to customer requirements, regulations and project budgets

  • Supporting preliminary design of water mains, service connections and electrical networks (LV/HV)

  • Preparing and submitting utility applications and managing approval processes

  • Sourcing and negotiating pricing with suppliers and subcontractors

  • Producing scopes of work and quotation documentation

  • Managing multiple projects, design changes and cost variations

What we're looking for:

We are looking for a commercially aware and technically capable estimator with experience across utilities or infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience in estimating within utilities, infrastructure or developer services

  • Strong understanding of electrical (LV/HV) and/or water infrastructure

  • Experience working with DNOs, IDNOs and/or Water Authorities

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within deadlines

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders

  • Commercial awareness with a focus on cost, value and project profitability

Required skills and experience:

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred)

  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as ENA Engineering Recommendation G81

  • Experience in electrical design within an infrastructure or ICP environment

  • Experience using design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience quoting water infrastructure (mains and service connections across domestic and I&C)

What you'll get:

CASS MUC is committed to supporting and investing in our people. In return for your skills and professionalism, we offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Hybrid working, with a mix of office and home-based flexibility

  • Opportunity to work across electrical, water and integrated multi-utility projects

  • Opportunity to influence project success and commercial outcomes

  • Supportive, team-focused working environment with career development opportunities

  • Company pension and access to an Employee Assistance Programme
