ROLE OVERVIEW
About the role:
Cable & Splicing Services (CASS) is a long-established leader in UK telecommunications, delivering high-quality network infrastructure and customer solutions nationwide. We’re now looking for experienced and accredited Telecoms Cable Enablement Engineer Gangs (2-Man Teams) to join us on a long-term basis as we continue to expand.

What you’ll be doing:
As a 2-Man Cable Enablement Gang, you’ll play a hands-on role in preparing and installing fibre routes to customer premises across both underground and overhead networks. Your work will span PIA and client infrastructures and may involve light civils, including minor digging where required.
Reporting to the Head of Field Delivery, you’ll represent CASS on the front line—delivering safe, compliant, and customer-focused installations in residential and commercial environments.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
Surveying, preparing, and enabling fibre routes across UG and OH networks
Completing installations to a high standard while maintaining safety and compliance
Supporting field and project teams by assisting with troubleshooting and issue resolution
Coordinating pre-installs, live installs, and service visits with our project office
Providing a professional and positive experience for customers and clients
What we're looking for:
We’re seeking skilled, reliable engineers who work well as a team and bring the following qualities:
Strong OH and UG fibre cabling experience with essential industry accreditations
Clear understanding of fibre terminology, with the ability to explain technical details simply
Professional, well-presented, and confident when dealing with customers
Friendly, approachable, and able to build trust quickly
Proactive, hard-working, and committed to delivering high standards of service
Comfortable working outdoors in all weathers and environments
Required skills and experience:
SA001, SA002, S7, S8 (or equivalent)
IPAF 1b
NRSWA Unit 2
K8 (Hand rodding in UG network)
NOPS Smart Awards Card (essential)
Experience working at height, including ladders and telegraph poles up to 11m
Understanding of H&S requirements for lone and team working
Previous customer-facing experience
Full UK manual driving licence (minimum 12 months)
Clear DBS
PIA experience (desirable but not essential)
